Plot points are created to define start of transects. Click the Capture Plot Point button to create a starting point for a plot. If the GPS is active the data collection form is shown, if the GPS isn't active a dialog will appear asking to turn it on.
Update grid cell button is used to update the current grid cell based upon the surveyor's current GPS location. With an active GPS location, click this button to display the survey grid cells status data collection form. When a cell is marked as Sampled/Present the additional values Target Spc., Per. Cover, Patch Density and Patch Pattern must be input.
The submenu button under the Capture Plot Point button allows the user to reset the current counters for smax, amax, label counter and the indicator flag for weeds found. This form is used if a surveyor finishes a plot before the amax counter has been reached, or if a mistake is made in marking a grid cell.
Not adaptive sampling
Need to change a cell from "sampled absent" to "sampled present": Use the Update Cells button and change the value from absent to present. The counters will automatically adjust for the error and no other steps are required.
Need to change a cell from "sampled present" to "sampled absent": Use the Update Cells button and change the value to absent. Once the cell is updated use the Reset Counters drop down menu under the plot point button to reset the Amax counter to "0". Also set the field Weed Found to false. When changing a cell's status from present to absent, the applet does not remove the cells that it generated for adaptive sampling and they may need to be manually reset, using the ArcPad edit tools, to "Not Sampled". By resetting these cells to "Not Sampled" they become available to the selection process again.
Adaptive sampling
Need to change a cell from "sampled absent" to "sampled present". Use the Update Cells button, to resample the 'mistake' cell and decrease the Amax counter by one using the reset counters menu under the plot point button. Nothing else needs to be done.
Need to change a cell from "sampled present" to "sampled absent". Use the Update Cells button and simply change the value from "Sampled Present" to "Sampled Absent". Nothing else needs to be done to avoid errors in the applet's counters. When changing a cell's status from present to absent, the applet does not remove the cells that it generated for adaptive sampling and they may need to be manually reset, using the ArcPad edit tools, to "Not Sampled".
